Thanks once again to everyone who came to my 'learn self-hypnosis' day on 20th July in aid of St. Mary's Hospice. To put everything into context, you have helped to fund 3 bereavement volunteers for a year to visit and support families coping with the loss of a loved one. THANK YOU.

I held my charity day on Monday 20th July teaching self-hypnosis techniques to raise funds for St. Mary's Hospice in Birmingham (I unfortunately had to cancel the first date on 11th due to a rather nasty tummy bug - sorry to those people who had booked in and were unable to re-book). I really enjoyed seeing everyone and they were all so interested in the techniques being taught as well as asking about mindfulness too. Hopefully they will all now have a bit more of an understanding of what hypnosis is and what it entails, and also have some very basic techniques that they can use in their everyday lives for stress reduction or a confidence boost.
Thank you to everyone who came - you raised a grand total of £100.56 which I think is pretty amazing! :) Really excited to be offering 2 charity days. If you'd like to take part you can call me on 07733 839 591 or you can send a message via the contacts page. Thanks!
The last week or so has been really interesting, as always, helping people of all ages with issues such as weight management, habit control, lack of confidence, Quit 4 Life smoking cessation, hypnobirthing, stress, and depression. It's always amazing for me to see that, even though people come to see me with similar issues, the triggers for these issues (and therefore the solutions) are always very different. I rely on a thorough pre-therapy assessment which is essential in order to provide a truly client-centred approach - then I can be confident in offering techniques that are tailor-made for that particular individual.
I really do love what I do. Often results happen staggeringly quickly. While in other cases, it might take a little longer to establish the true nature of a presenting issue. However, I'm always amazed at how powerful our own minds really are. Here's to another fascinating week! Nick took the Central England mindfulness group to Kings Heath Park this evening. We were encouraged to walk around the park whilst 'letting go of any intention other than awareness'. We noticed colours, textures, shapes as well as our physical feelings and emotional responses. Trying to be more aware of our breathing while walking proved hilarious at one point :) And discussions opened up about how much detail we actually miss in our everyday lives. A few of us came to the conclusion that so many of us live life on automatic pilot letting what's really important slip away. Mindfulness helps us to live our lives fully again, moment by moment by moment.
Thanks to all members of the group who have given their permission for the photos to be published. Mindfulness groups are held every Wednesday evening at 7.15 at Central England Holistic Therapies, 240 Alcester Road South, Kings Heath, Birmingham. Tutors are Nick Cooke, Aston Colley, Carmel Finglass... and me! Booking is advised on 0121 444 1110 Lovely people. Lovely weather. Lovely venue. It can mean only one thing... Mindfulness Teacher Training Week at the Midlands Arts Centre. I'm lucky indeed to be involved as one of the tutors :)
