Rachel Broomfield - Hypnotherapist and Mindfulness Teacher
Hi and thanks for looking in on my 'About' page.
Ever since I was given a book about techniques in relaxation when I was doing my A levels (my mom had obviously thought I needed to de-stress a bit at that particular time in my life and had given me a book that helped immensely), I’ve always had a real interest in how our minds and bodies are connected. And how important and fragile that connection can be. The book showed how very simple techniques such as slow, gentle movements and focusing on
the breath worked wonders for bringing the mind and body back into some sort of balance at times of stress. So simple and yet so effective. I’ve often remembered those simple techniques and have now racked up a fair few books written on similar subjects.
I believe we all experience the ebb and flow of life in completely different ways. And, depending on what happens and how our minds and bodies react, sometimes we consider we deal with things well and are able to move on and sometimes it’s almost as though something gets stuck and we end up falling into spiralling ways of negative thinking and doing.
A hypnotherapist can be a great resource to call upon if you feel you are suffering in any of these ways - they have a vast array of techniques at their disposal to be able to help you begin to unblock those clogged up neural pathways that can often cause such misery.
I am in the fortunate enough position to earn a living doing what I absolutely love – focusing on how our minds work and how this affects our behaviours - in order to help people overcome the issues that have perhaps kept them feeling ‘stuck’ in life.
I work with a wide variety of different clients, of all ages.
I work with people on a one to one basis, especially for hypnotherapy and coaching. And I often work with groups, especially for mindfulness.
I am also privileged enough to be a member of the UK College of Mindfulness Meditation training team, helping to tutor students who want to gain a recognised qualification in this healing art, and also a trainer at Central England College of Clinical Hypnosis. If you happen to contact either college, you'll probably be welcomed by me as I'm also a member of the admin/organisation team, often being the first port of call for prospective students as well as our graduates.
But anyway, back to working with you... I like to tailor-make each therapy session to each individual - what I think might work best for your particular issue and disposition, depending on the avenues you feel comfortable exploring. Very often the therapy I offer involves elements of hypnosis, mindfulness, cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy (understanding how and why we do things), solution focused counselling and NLP coaching.
I’m more than happy to chat with you and explore ways in which I might be able to help.
I might not be the answer to all of your problems but hypnotherapy and mindfulness have a proven track record in being highly beneficial when dealing with a vast array of issues.
I look forward to hearing from you!
