Hypnotherapy Disclaimer

As you’ve probably read in the rest of my website, hypnotherapy can be a wonderful ‘tool’ to use to help you in overcoming a variety of issues. However, if you come to see me as a client I will always make you aware of the following:

Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for professional medical care.

Please be aware that this site does not provide medical advice. It is for interest and information only.

On no occasion should hypnotherapy, or the techniques used within, be seen as a substitute for professional medical advice. Hypnotherapy acts as a complimentary therapy, not an alternative, to professional health care and advice should always be sought from your GP or other healthcare provider.
You are the only one who can guarantee success.

Hypnotherapy does not work like a magic wand, although results can be achieved very quickly. You have to be motivated and committed to change – undertaking homework and tasks that may be set (for example, listening regularly to cds which may be provided). This is an essential part of the therapy process and in not doing this the effectiveness of the therapy will certainly decrease. In other words, hypnotherapy involves commitment on your behalf.

Hypnotherapy depends largely on your overall motivation to make changes in your own life. As a result, I personally can offer no guarantees of success. You are the only one who can do this. Ultimately, hypnosis cannot make you do anything you don’t want to do. However, what I can guarantee is that I will always endeavour to help you to the best of my abilities.

Client-centred therapy.

Everyone is different and responds differently to hypnosis. In the same way, everyone may show different levels of success over different timescales. Sometimes all that might be needed is one or two sessions. However, sometimes things might not be so straight-forward - other issues might emerge that the you would like help with, so these are often dealt with before a successful outcome can be achieved. On average, I see clients for three or four sessions - sometimes more, sometimes less.

Audio downloads.

When listening to audio downloads you should make sure it is safe for you to do so. You should not listen while driving or operating machinery. Please seek medical advice first if you suffer from epilepsy or any mental health illness as deep relaxation, and the suggestions contained within the audio, may have adverse effects.

As always, please do get in touch (here’s a link to my contact page) if you have any further questions.

IMPORTANT: IF IN ANY DOUBT PLEASE SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE FIRST
No hypno-therapeutic or mindfulness techniques should ever be regarded as a substitute for professional medical care. They should always be seen as complementary.
