What is hypnotherapy like? Watch this video to find out more:

People's first impression of hypnosis is often based on stage shows and television programmes. The classic line "Are you going to make me cluck like a chicken?!" is often heard by hypnotherapists! This couldn't be further from the truth! As the lady on the video says, when you are 'under hypnosis' it is just a case of feeling very relaxed - you are always in control and the hypnotherapist has no direct control over you whatsoever. They can make suggestions while you are in this state of consciousness, and these are more freely able to reach that part of your mind which is often referred to as the subconscious. However, you remain at all times free to choose whether to take on these suggestions or whether to disregard them.

The state of hypnosis is sometimes described as similar to the feeling you get just before you fall asleep.
Hypnotherapy is effective in helping with many different issues such as:
- stress
- fears and phobias
- weight management
- stop smoking
- pain control
- lack of confidence
- calmer birthing

- sleeping difficulties
- low self-esteem
-
anxiety
- panic attacks
- depression
- IBS
- and many, many more...

PLEASE NOTE: It is advised that people who suffer from epilepsy should not undergo hypnosis. Likewise, if you have ever had psychiatric or psychotic episodes, then hypnotherapy is probably not the right course for you to take. I would be unable to treat anyone in these categories.
IMPORTANT: IF IN ANY DOUBT PLEASE SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE FIRST

No hypno-therapeutic techniques should ever be regarded as a substitute for
professional medical care. They should always be seen as complementary.
